Key Points of the Announcement
- Disney is transitioning to a new newsroom on DisneyConnect.com, aiming to centralize all news and press materials from all Disney Experiences.
- The change will be effective from June 1, and journalists will need to set up a Brandfolder account on the new Walt Disney World press room to access updated information and press materials from the Walt Disney World Resort.
- There might be a delay in registration due to the ongoing transition process.
- Approval for registration on the new platform doesn’t guarantee access to all sites and assets; it’s subject to review.
- Press materials and media assets can still be accessed on WDWNews.com until May 31.
- News regarding other Disney destinations can be found on Disneyland Resort, Disney Signature Experiences, and Disney Cruise Line websites.
The Realist’s Take
Disney is having a bit of a ‘digital spring clean’. They’re packing up their old online press room and unpacking at swanky new digital headquarters on DisneyConnect! From June 1, you’ll need this fancy thing called a ‘Brandfolder’ account to access all the latest Walt Disney World news – just don’t hold your breath waiting for approval – it might take a while with all the digital dust flying around! And if you’re still in denial over the move, you can cling onto the old site (just like your favourite childhood Disney VHS tapes) until May 31. For everything else Disney, there’s always Disneyland Resort, Disney Signature Experiences, and Disney Cruise Line. Just don’t end up like Dory and forget where you’re supposed to get your news!
